TCS Among 15 Companies Announcing Dividends, Bonuses and Stock Splits in January 2026

January 2026 opens with a busy corporate action calendar on the BSE, with 15 listed companies announcing 16 events including dividends, bonus issues, stock splits and other shareholder rewards. These actions span large-cap names like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), consumer-facing companies and several mid- and small-cap firms seeking to enhance liquidity and broaden their investor base.

IT and consumer leaders

India’s IT major TCS has scheduled a board meeting on January 12, 2026 to consider Q3 results and a third interim dividend for FY26. The company has fixed January 17, 2026 as the record date, meaning shareholders on the register that day will be eligible for the payout once approved.

Alongside TCS, financial and consumer-oriented companies are also set to distribute cash to investors through interim dividends. Names such as Computer Age Management Services (CAMS) and other BSE-listed firms have lined up January record dates, underlining steady earnings visibility and a continued focus on returning surplus capital to shareholders.

Bonus issues take center stage

Bonus shares dominate part of the action, with Orient Technologies emerging as a key highlight in the midcap IT and infrastructure space. The company has fixed January 5, 2026 as the record date for a 1:10 bonus issue, crediting one new fully paid-up share for every 10 shares held, with the new shares scheduled to be available for trading from January 7.

The bonus issue is being funded via capitalization of the securities premium account and is aimed at rewarding over 80,000 retail shareholders while improving float and trading volumes. Such bonus actions often signal management confidence in future earnings, even though they do not directly change the company’s intrinsic value.

Stock splits to boost liquidity

Stock splits form another large part of January’s activity as companies look to bring down per-share prices and make their stocks more accessible to retail investors. Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) has lined up a 1:5 split, while A-1 Ltd has approved a 1:10 split that reduces the face value of each share from ₹10 to ₹1.

Ajmera Realty & Infra India has fixed January 15, 2026 as the record date for its 1:5 stock split, subdividing each ₹10 face value share into five shares of ₹2. The company secured shareholder approval via postal ballot on December 11, 2025, and expects the split to enhance liquidity in its real estate counter and attract a wider base of small investors.

What it means for investors

For existing shareholders, dividends provide immediate cash returns, while bonus shares and stock splits increase the number of shares held without altering overall investment value on the record date. However, increased float and lower trading prices can improve liquidity, potentially narrowing bid–ask spreads and making it easier to enter or exit positions.

Investors looking to benefit from these January 2026 actions must pay close attention to record dates and ex-dates, ensuring they hold the shares in their demat accounts at least one trading day before the record date under the T+1 settlement cycle. As large caps like TCS and active midcaps such as Ajmera Realty and Orient Technologies roll out dividends, bonuses and splits, the month offers multiple opportunities but also calls for careful stock-specific analysis beyond headline corporate actions.
