Nestlé India Ltd delivered an impressive set of financial results for the third quarter ended December 31, 2025 (Q3 FY26), exceeding market expectations and prompting brokerages to revise their target prices higher. The performance reflects a strong resurgence in consumer demand across major product categories and broad-based volume growth, underscoring the resilience of the FMCG major in the current macroeconomic environment.
Strong Financial Performance
Nestlé India reported a significant rise in its net profit and revenues for Q3 FY26, driven primarily by robust volume expansion and improved operating momentum:
Consolidated Net Profit surged by over 45% year-on-year to ₹998–₹1,018 crore in the quarter, compared with ₹688 crore in Q3 FY25.
Revenue from Operations climbed nearly 18.5–18.6% YoY to ₹5,643–₹5,667 crore, marking one of the company’s highest quarterly turnovers.
The company also announced an interim dividend of ₹7 per share, reinforcing its shareholder-friendly stance.
Management attributed the robust performance to strategic investments in capacity expansion, enhanced brand-building efforts, and a recovery in consumer demand supported by favorable GST adjustments and robust rural demand.
Volume-Led Growth and Brand Investments
The latest quarter marked the strongest volume growth in nearly five years for Nestlé India, indicating renewed traction across its portfolio. Strategic boosts in advertising and media expenditures — up around 42% YoY — were aimed at strengthening brand visibility and capturing market share.
However, elevated advertising and promotional spends, along with higher raw material and employee costs, led to a modest contraction in the EBITDA margin, signalling a trade-off between growth acceleration and short-term profitability.
Market Reaction
Following the quarterly beat, Nestlé India’s shares climbed around 3–4%, hitting fresh 52-week highs as investors reacted positively to the results. The stock’s performance in Q3 underscored broad investor confidence in its earnings trajectory and growth strategy.
Brokerages Raise Target Prices
Analysts and brokerage houses reacted to the robust Q3 performance with notable target price revisions and varied ratings:
Nomura reaffirmed its Buy rating with an increased target of around ₹1,450 per share, citing strong volume and mix growth.
CLSA maintained a Hold rating, raising earnings forecasts by 3–5% while noting continued margin pressure from elevated brand investments.
Jefferies also stuck with Hold, assigning a target near ₹1,300, pointing to robust volume growth but cautious near-term margin outlook.
These revised price targets reflect both confidence in Nestlé India’s long-term growth prospects and caution about near-term margin headwinds due to strategic investments.
What It Means for Investors
The strong Q3 showing and positive brokerage reactions indicate that Nestlé India is capitalising on recovery in consumer demand and reinforcing its leadership in key segments like instant foods, beverages, confectionery, and nutrition products. While margin pressure from higher promotional spending remains a watch-out, the overall earnings beat has strengthened investor confidence in sustainable growth and brand resilience.
